Personal Projects: Mid 60’s Triumphs
I like old Triumphs. This green one is a ’64 TR6 that was a patchouli-soaked rat bike when I got it. I had Old’s Cool Choppers in NYC build a hardtail (5″ stretch – 2.5″ drop). Painted that in 2k satin black. The tank is an original Bonnie tank. The oil bag is from a 50’s BSA. The Fender is a lowbrow Customs Sting Ray ribbed. I tig welded the fabbed parts and tabs. The custom oil filter mount was designed in Adobe Illustrator and output in metal by SendCutSend.com. It holds a 70’s Norton Commando oil filter for an extra oil capacity. I painted this with Shimrin base coat (silver), intercoat clear metal flake and House of Kolor Organic Green Kandy with a clear coat. It was a lot of coats. This tape-out design I carried over to the 1966 Red Triumph which I will post soon.
